EUYO Ferrara Chamber Academy

In September 2018 the European Union Youth Orchestra and Ferrara Musica launch the first edition of the new EUYO Ferrara Chamber Academy. The Academy will focus on chamber music teaching and performance, and include an interesting new pan-European and national element in the combining of professional and young players from Europe and the EU as both teachers and performers.

The Academy will include new opportunities for young Italian musicians.

For the 2018 first edition, Chamber Orchestra of Europe musicians will teach, mentor and perform with European Union Youth Orchestra players, who will in turn teach and mentor young Italian musicians selected from an open call out, all three groups living and working together in Ferrara. This project will thus not only help to develop the chamber music and ensemble skills of the EUYO, but also to further the EUYO’s mission to contribute to the development of young Italian musicians as part of the Orchestra’s new home in Italy.

All current EUYO members automatically receive an invitation to apply to the Academy, subject only to repertoire constraints (see here  for full details).

An open callout is made to young Italian musicians to apply for the opportunity to perform in the Teatro Comunale Claudio Abbado di Ferrara, to be coached by EUYO musicians, and to attend rehearsals and concerts of the EUYO with guests of the Chamber Orchestra of Europe. (see here for full details and application form in Italian and English).
