Jakub Przybycień was born 3rd May 1995.
He began learning violin in 2001 at the State School of Music in Zielona Góra, Poland.
At the age of 11 he won 1st prize at the “XVIII International Competition - Festival of Young Music Talents” in Crimea, Ukraine. Three years later he debuted as a soloist in a performance with the German-Polish Youth Orchestra. In 2013, together with Zielona Góra Philharmonic Orchestra and conducted by maestro Czesław Grabowski, Jakub played at the inaugural concert of the “XXII Tadeusz Wroński Strings Music Festival – Polish Violinists Master”. One year later, in 2014, he was accepted into the European Union Youth Orchestra – one of the most prestigious youth orchestras in the world, where he had on opportunity to work under great conductors such as Bernard Haitink, Vasily Petrenko and Vladimir Ashkenazy.
Throughout his experience so far, Jakub has been working with acclaimed violinists such as Isabelle Faust, Patricia Koptachinskaja and Corina Belcea. Jakub has taken part in many international festivals such as the BBC Proms Festival in London, MISA Festival in Shanghai, Abu Dhabi Festival, Robeco Summer Nights Festival in Amsterdam, Zermatt Festival in Switzerland and many more.
From a young age Jakub was very interested in conducting. In 2012 for the first time he had an opportunity to conduct an orchestra which performed his own compositions. During his education as a conductor he had the opportunity to work with the National Forum of Music in Wrocław.
Currently Jakub Przybycień is studying violin under Professor Monika Urbaniak Lisik in Hochschule der Künste Bern in Switzerland.
