Lorenzo Russo

Born in Rome, Lorenzo started his clarinet studies at an early age, obtaining his Clarinet Master's degree at just 18 years old and his Chamber Music Master degree several years later, both at Conservatorio di Musica di Santa Cecilia in Rome.

In 2017, he obtained a further clarinet Master degree at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam under the tuition of Arno Piters, E-flat clarinet of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.

Despite his young age, Lorenzo has already played in several youth and professional orchestras with whom he has performed in many world-renowned concerts halls including The Royal Albert Hall, The Royal Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Sala Santa Cecilia in Rome, Carnegie Hall, Konzerthaus Berlin and The Rome Opera Theatre under the lead of conductors such as Valery Gergiev, Antonio Pappano, Vasily Petrenko, Daniel Harding, Myung-Whun Chung, Michael Tilson Thomas and many others.

Lorenzo has collaborated with Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia Orchestra in Rome, Orchestra del Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, “Haydn” Orchestra of Bolzano and Trento, the European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO), the Netherlands Youth Orchestra (NJO), the National Orchestra of the Italian Conservatoires and more.

Lorenzo has been member of the EUYO since 2014 and he is the recipient of the “Aleksandar Pavlović Award 2017”.
