David Šimeček joined EUYO in summer 2017. He studies at Janacek Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno, Czech Republic. Here, he is taught by Doc. Milan Polák and Doc. Vít Spilka. He began playing the clarinet in 2003 while attending Piaristicke Namesti Art and Music school in Ceske Budejovice under Zdeněk Urbánek. Subsequently, he successfully graduated from the Conservatory in Ceske Budejovice in 2016.
One of his most notable achievements includes a first placing in the competition of the Conservatoires and Musical Gymnasiums of the Czech Republic (2012, 2015). He also achieved third Prize (2014) and second Prize (2015) at the International Clarinet Competition "Czech Clarinet Art". He is a member of the Francisextet ensemble, focusing primarily on 20th century music. With this ensemble, he became the winner of the Concerto Bohemia competition in 2015. Furthermore, he has performed as a soloist with the South Bohemian Philharmonic Orchestra in 2011 and 2015.
Since September 2015 he has been a member of the National Theatre Orchestra in Prague while also regularly collaborating with the South Bohemian Philharmonic and the Czech Youth Philharmonic Orchestra. He is also a member of the L'armonia terrena orchestra, who focus mainly on the classical repertoire.
