Francisco Gaspar Tomás López

Francisco Gaspar Tomás López joined EUYO in 2013.

He started studying trumpet at the age 6. His main teachers were Leopoldo Vidal, José Javier Pastor and Reinhold Ambros (Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra). He is currently learning under Adán Delgado (Spanish National Orchestra), Pierre Badel (International Trumpet Soloist) and Jorge Almeida (1st Solo Trumpet at Portuguese Symphony Orchestra, thanks to a JONDE-Fundación BBVA scholarship).

He studied his Trumpet Bachelor's and Trumpet Pedagogy Bachelor's at Alicante Superior Conservatoire (both awarded with Extraordinary Prize), including a Trumpet Master's Degree. After his Erasmus in Austria, he was awarded the Spanish Erasmus Quality Prize.

In addition, he was awarded: Ruperto Chapí, Villa de Cox, Sociedad de Conciertos de Alicante, Terras de la Salette, Póvoa de Varzim Solo Competitions, Valeriano Machí Esparza and Música Viva Chamber Music Competitions with Levante 5ound Brass (quintet).

He is a member of Orquesta Sinfónica del Teatro Chapí, Orquesta Filarmónica de la Universidad de Alicante and Orquesta Sinfónica de Bankia. He is also an academist at Orquesta Ciudad de Granada and Orquesta Nacional de España and had played with many of the most renowned youth orchestras in Europe: Joven Orquesta Nacional de España, Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, Lucerne Festival Academy Orchestra, European Union Youth Orchestra and Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester. He was 1st Principal Trumpet at Orquestra Clássica do Sul (Portugal) from 2014 to 2016.

He played solo concerts with Villena Conservatoire Orchestra, Banda Municipal de Villena (with whom he also recorded a solo CD), Alicante Superior Conservatoire Orchestra, Banda Municipal de Alicante, and Orquestra Clássica do Sul.

Planned by Francisco Gaspar and organized by Alicante University, in June 2017 the 1st Villena Brass-Fest edition was held in Villena (Alicante), with Francisco Gaspar
and Roberto Bodí as trumpet teachers, giving a variety of trumpet performances.

During 2017 Summer Tour he got accepted as an academist at The Chamber Orchestra of Europe for the 2017/18 season, thanks to the COE Academy EUYO Scholarship
