Sara Molina Castellote

Sara Molina Castellote (Madrid, 1996) did her Bachelor studies in Madrid (Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid, RCSMM) which finished in June of 2018.

Currently she studies first year of Master in Codarts University (Rotterdam), where she has lessons with the Professor Gordan Nikolic. During her third year of Bachelor she was granted with the Erasmus scholarship. She spent one year studying with the Professor Christoph Poppen in Hochschule für Musik München.

She has been winner of some national firsts prizes like: Concurso para violín “Forum Musikae” (Madrid, 2014), Concurso para violín Cidade Vigo (2014) or Concurso para Jóvenes Intérpretes “Ruperto Chapí” (Villena, 2015). Recently she won as well Víctor Martín Prize (Bachelor end of studies prize). Thanks to that she played a recital with the Stradivarius Boissier whose owner was Pablo de Sarasate, and now it’s property of RCSMM and also she obtained a bow, built by Magdalena Sapeta and valued in 3.500 Euros.

She was also grant-holding by the AIE association during four years (2012-2015) as well as the Grada van Beek Foundation, in Rotterdam (2018/2019).

She has also participated in some summer courses and masterclass with proffesors like Zakhar Bron, Olga Vilkomirskaya, Sergey Fatkulin, Shirley Laub, Silvia Marcovici or Stephan Picard, as well as Carole Petitdemange (Quatour Ardeo) or Cuarteto Quiroga in chamber music and string quartet.

On the other hand, she is member of Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester (GMJO), European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO) and Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival. Thanks to this, she has taken part of some tour with both orchestras. During these tours she has played in halls like Fundaçao Calouste Gulbenkian (Lisboa), Auditorio Nacional de Música (Madrid), Philharmonie (Luxemburgo), Théâtre des Champs-Élysées (París), Palau de la Música Catalana (Barcelona), Teatro Comunale (Ferrara), Auditorio y Palacio de Congresos (Zaragoza), Musikverein (Viena), Alte Oper (Frankfurt), Teatro Comunale (Bolzano), Felsenreitschule (Salzburg), Concertgebouw (Amsterdam), Elbphilharmonie (Hamburg), Konzerthaus (Berlin), Semperoper (Dresden), Teatro alla Scala (Milán), Rudolfinum (Praga), Opera de Dubai, Grafenegg Auditorium, Romanian Athenaeum (Bucarest), with conductors like Daniel Harding, Ingo Metzmacher, Lorenzo Viotti or Vasily Petrenko and professors from the London Symphony Orchestra or Wiener Philharmoniker.

Sara is currently academist in Rotterdams Philharmonisch Orkest, where she has played with conductors as Dima Slobodeniouk or Elim Chan, and with soloist as Nicolas Altstaedt or Pablo Ferrández.
