Miguel Erlich was born in 1996 and started his musical studies with Anne Victorino D’Almeida at the National Conservatory in Lisbon, performing as a soloist with its Symphonic Orchestra.
In 2012, Miguel founded Stravinstrio. This group won the 1st Prize at Prémio Jovens Músicos 2013 (national’s radio competition) and 1st Prize at Concorso Internazionale Saverio Mercadante 2014, among other distinctions. Concerts by the group were broadcasted by radio and TV channels.
In 2015, Miguel was invited by the European Union of Music Competitions for Youth (EMCY) to perform in Hannover among prize winners of Jugend Musiziert with Ensemble Modern.
In the same year he began his bachelor studies at Escola Superior de Artes Aplicadas (ESART), in viola class of Professor António Pereira. Miguel participated in masterclasses with Ana Bela Chaves, Gérard Caussé, Tatjana Masurenko, Leo De Neve, Christophe Desjardins, among others, and played with conductors such as Vasily Petrenko, Manfred Honeck, Gianandrea Noseda and Pablo Heras-Casado.
Miguel Erlich was principal viola at the Mediterranean Youth Orchestra and the Portuguese Chamber Orchestra. He is currently member of the European Union Youth Orchestra and frequently invited to
Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa. In 2018, Miguel was admitted to work under guidance of Tabea Zimmermann, Pauline Sachse and Thomas Hoppe in a mastercourse in Switzerland, sponsored by Hindemith Foundation.
Miguel Erlich gave chamber music and orchestra concerts in Italy, France, United Kingdom, Germany, Poland, Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland and in the United Arab Emirates in concert halls such as Konzerthaus (Berlin), Concertgebouw, Wigmore Hall, Royal Albert Hall, Grand Théâtre de Provence, Volkenturm Auditorium (Grafenegg, Austria), Teatro Claudio Abbado (Ferrara) and Dubai Opera.
