Daniel Juan Vassallo
In 1995 Daniel was born into a musical family in Birmingham, UK.
He began learning the double bass aged 8 with Co-Principal bassist of CBSO Charles Wall until he was 16. He then went to Argentina to study tango music and was there for two years before returning to the UK to start his Bachelors degree with Thomas Martin at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.
After graduating he moved to Manchester to do a masters at the Royal Northern College of Music with Professor Jiri Hudec where Daniel is currently in his second year of study. In 2018 Daniel was invited to go to Germany and join the Mahler Chamber Orchestra Academy. Daniel enjoys freelancing with professional orchestras and works frequently with BBC Philharmonic, CBSO, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Halle, Opera North, Manchester Camerata, Northern Sinfonia and Sinfonia Cymru.
