The EUYO's Global Associate Partners allow us to bring together musicians from different backgrounds to rehearse and perform together; to learn and exchange new approaches to performance and to form musical friendships across the world! See the list below to see who the EUYO works with:
The Sphinx Organisation was founded in 1996 and is a non-profit organisation based in Detroit which is dedicated to transforming lives through the power of diversity within the arts and classical music. The Organisation's founding and mission was inspired by the lack of diversity that was present on stage and in the audiences at concert halls at the time. To this day, Sphinx continues to create positive change through diversifying the classical music and cultural communities by the means of educating and developing the skills of young musicians in these areas.
Created in Brazil back in 2007 as one of the priority Programs of the Government of the State of Bahia, Neojiba began as an inspiration from the acclaimed Venezuelan Program “El Sistema” by founding director, conductor and pianist Ricardo Castro. Over the last ten years, the lives of over 4,600 children and youth of Brazil's have been transformed through the organisation's inspiring work and projects through the development of their skills and musical practice which has taken the Orchestra to many locations around the world.
The New World Symphony has existed for over 29 years and began after co-founder Lin Arison heard a performance given the EUYO in the UK, conducted by Georg Solti, and was immediately inspired. On returning to Miami, Lin along with her late husband Ted Arison, decided to start a training orchestra of young musicians in Miami, and thus the New World Symphony was born. Today, the NWS consists of 87 young musicians who are granted fellowships lasting up to three years which offer in-depth tuition, professional development training and personalized experiences working with leading guest conductors, soloists and artists.
The Shanghai Orchestra Academy began by a partnership between the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, and Shanghai Conservatory of Music in September 2014. The SOA was founded to bring advanced, post-graduate orchestral training at Master's degree level for talented instrumentalists, providing rigorous training of private lessons, chamber music coaching, repertoire classes, seminars and rehearse auditions. Music Director of the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, Maestro Long Yu, is the President of the Academy. In October 2017, the EUYO brought together a chamber group of musicians from both the EUYO and the SOA for a series of workshops, rehearsals and a performance to commence the beginning of the exciting three year campaign Experience Europe.
