23/07/2017 - Congratulations to EUYO alumnus Sérgio Pires who took home first prize in the Gheorghe Dima International Clarinet Competition in Cluj-Napoca, Romania last week. Sérgio performed Mozart's Clarinet Concerto in A Major KV. 622 (1st and 2nd movement) alongside the Transilvania Philharmonic Orchestra of Cluj-Napoca, conducted by Tiberiu Soare. Sérgio entered the EUYO aged 17 and since then has performed with many renowned soloists, among them Maxim Vengerov, Heinz Holliger and Vilde Frang.
