Ioannis Nikolis
Ioannis grew up in a music family in Athens Greece and he started playing the violin at the age of 4. He graduated from the National Conservatory of Athens Greece at the age of 15 (June, 2017) with first prize and honours in his father's (Panagiotis Nikolis) class.
He continues his studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London UK with professor Jacqueline Ross, as an Athena Scholarship recipient.
He has also been offered a place to continue his studies in the Conservatorium van Amsterdam with professor Ilya Grubert and in the Manhattan School of Music with professor Isaac Malkin.
Ioannis as a passionate orchestral musician is
a former player of the first violin section of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra Young. Recently he has been accepted in the prestigious Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester. He has also given concerts as a member of the first violin section of Athens Philharmonic and Armonia Atenea (Kamerata). Ioannis has been accepted in the European Union Youth Orchestra.
Ioannis has participated at concerts in Carnegie Hall, Het Concertgebouw, Flagey, Athens Megaron Music Hall, and many others.
From a young age he started playing concerts as a soloist and he has collaborated with a lot of artists of his generation in Greece and around Europe. Last year's highlights were his recordings with the pianist Mary Alexandratou, his collaboration with Stelios Kerasidis, and his summer concerts in Greece and in Italy.
He has participated at masterclass courses in Europe and in the United States with professors such as Don Walerstein, Jacqueline Ross, Isaac Malkin as well as with members of the Royal Concertgebouworkest such as Arndt Auhagen Marc Daniel van Biemen and Borika van den Booren. He also participated in Talent Music Course Festival 2021 in Brescia Italy.
Ioannis is looking forward to meeting people from all around the world and to share his music enthusiasm and ideas with them.
