Hanna Szczęsna
Hanna Szczęsna, born in 2004, started playing cello at the age of 7 in Warsaw, Poland. Currently she is a student of Zenon Brzewski High School of Music in Warsaw. She studies in the class of Professor Piotr Hausenplas.
Hanna is a laureate of the national and international cello and chamber competitions such as International Cello Competition „Talents for Europe” in Dolny Kubin, Slovakia (solo and chamber categories), 13th Jan Vyhytil International Cello Competition in Prague, Czech Republic, 13th Young Cellists Competition in Wrocław, Poland, 20th Juliusz Zarębski International Music Competition in Łomianki, Poland, 1st Wilkomirscy Chamber Music Competition in Łódź, Poland, 4th Gustav Mahler Prize Cello Competition 2022, Czech Republic. She was a holder of the scholarship of the Polish Ministry of Culture and now she is a holder of a scholarships of Polish Children's Fund for exceptionally gifted children (since 2018) and Center of Artistic Education (2021/2022).
Hanna has experience of playing in several orchestras. She is a principal cellist in the Zenon Brzewski Warsaw String Orchestra. Besides, she took part in many orchestral projects in Poland and in 2021 she participated in orchestral project Royal Concertgebouworkest Young, which was conducted by Daniel Harding and George Jackson. She had an opportunity to perform on stages in Poland and abroad: the Concert Hall of Kölner Philharmony, the Concert Hall of Fryderyk Chopin Music University in Warsaw, the Chamber Hall of the National Philharmonic in Warsaw, the Ballroom and the Concerthall of the Royal Castle in Warsaw, the Ballroom of the Łańcut Castle, the hall of the Krzysztof Penderecki European Music Center in Lusławice, the Polish Radio Concert Studio in Warsaw, the Royal Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.
