Mateusz Błaszczak

Mateusz Błaszczak born in 1998, studies at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw in the cello class of Andrzej Bauer.

A laureate of numerous solo and chamber music competitions. He is a winner of the first and special prize at the Chamber Music Competition “Among Bach” in Cracow, first prize at the International Competition of Bohdan Warchal in playing the bow-string instruments in Dolný Kubín and also first prize at the International Competition in playing bow-string instruments in Elbląg.

He regularly performs on many stages, taking part in several music festivals such as Witold Lutosławski Festival “Łańcuch” in Warsaw and Aurora Music Festival in Stockholm. Mateusz earned a two-year scholarship of the Polish Children’s Fund for outstandingly talented polish students, and twice was given a scholarship of the F. Chopin University’s Rector for the best students.

He has been a member of the Polish Youth Orchestra and since 2019 the European Union Youth Orchestra. He continues his music education , working with e.g. Danjulo Ishizaka, Torleif Thedéen, Kiril Rodin, Paolo Pandolfo, Denis Severin, Alexander Neustroev and members of the Kronos Quartet during numerous masterclasses.
