Birgit Katriin Born

Estonian violinist Birgit Katriin Born became a member of the EUYO in 2019.

She has been studying in the United Kingdom since 2016, when she joined the Chetham’s School of Music in the violin class of prof. Jan Repko, with whom she currently continues her studies at the Royal College of Music.

She is the Lydia Napper Award Holder and has won numerous national and international competitions, including a scholarship of the Maxima competition “Future Talent 2013”, participated in many summer academies, like the Astona International Summer Academy, the Pärnu Music Festival & Järvi Academy, and played in masterclasses with leading violin teachers like Mauricio Fuks, Viktor Tretyakov, Stephan Picard, Alf Richard Kraggerud and others. Since 2014, she is also a member of Virumaa Chamber Orchestra. In June 2018, Birgit had the opportunity to perform in Buckingham Palace for Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex.
