Domenico La Serra

Domenico was born in Vibo Valentia in Italy in 2003 and lives in Monterosso Calabro. He began playing at the age of four at the "Francesco Cilea" band complex in Monterosso Calabro, demonstrating exceptional qualities and an innate talent for percussion from an early age.

In 2012, at the age of eight, he was admitted to the "Fausto Torrefranca" State Conservatory of Music in Vibo Valentia, where he currently attends the Percussion school under the guidance of Maestro Vittorino Naso. With Maestro Naso, he is an integral part of a Percussion Ensemble of young artists from the same Conservatory, whose concert performances are recognized and appreciated at regional and national level. Winner of a scholarship, he became an effective member from 2013 to today of the Wind Orchestra and Brass Ensemble of brass and percussion of the Conservatory.

With these groups he has performed in venue such as Vatican Museums in Rome, Auditorium of the Guido Cantelli Conservatory in Novara, San Carlo Theater in Arona and the Royal Palace of Caserta.

Since 2018 he has been part of the Symphony Orchestra of the Fausto Torrefranca Conservatory. Domenico enriches his training by participating in various masterclasses, among which the one held by Maestro Frederic Macarez (first tympanist of the Paris Orchestra and international soloist) and with Dom Famularo, both in May 2018.

In March 2019 he participated as Percussionist of the Concert Band of Melicucco (RC), directed by Maestro Maurizio Managò, in the recording of the CD "SIMPLICITY" published by the publishing house Scomegna of Turin He has been as a percussionist at concerts with well-known conductors such as Jan Van Der Roost and Jacob De Haan and with prestigious soloists: Giovanni Punzi (Principal clarinet of the Copenhagen Philharmonic Orchestra); Mario Stefano Pietrodarchi (classical accordion concert player and internationally renowned bandoneon)
