David Garcia Seixas began his musical studies at the age of 11 at Escola Profissional ESPROARTE having been accompanied by professor Hugo Rodrigues, during this studies he did several solo recitals and in chamber Music in the city of Mirandela.
In 2017 he started studying at the Professional School of Applied Arts in Castelo Branco where he currently works with professors Augusto and Alexandra Trindade. He had several masterclasses and some classes in Portugal and Austria with Anton Sorokow, Jela Spitkova, Gilles Apap, Pedro Meireles, Anne Vitorino D’Almeida and Pavel Milyukov. In orchestral work he was part of the APROARTE orchestra for three years. In those same three years he was part of the FMJ Symphony Orchestra inserted in the “Junior Music Festival” having thus worked with excellent professional conductors such as Osvaldo Ferreira, Peter Askim and Jan Wierzba. He also joined the Gulbenkian Orchestra Internship in 2018 and 2019 where he worked with several musicians from the Gulbenkian Orchestra and with conductor Lorenzo Viotti.
In 2019 as been awarded with 3rd prize and best interpretation of portuguese piece at the Montijo National Competition. He is first violin of the quintet “Quartz”, a group founded in October 2017 where mostly contemporary works are performed, they have already been awarded for the second consecutive time in the Folefest Festival competition, in 2017 with the second prize and in 2018 with the 1st prize in the category of Chamber Music, Higher Level, already have several concerts scheduled for the years 2019/20 in the most varied concert halls and music festivals in the country. Since 2017 he is a member of the Portuguese Philharmonic Orchestra where he has played in the most varied concert halls in Portugal and with several soloists such as Kristina Miller, Soyoung Yoon, Eldbjorg Hemsing and Ray Chen.
In 2020 he was selected to join the EUYO - European Union Youth Orchestra.
