Matthias Fröschl started to play the cello at the age of 7. Since October 2017 he is studying with Professor Julian Arp at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz.
He has attended masterclasses held by renowned professors, such as Marko Ylönen, Laszlo Fenyö, Octavian Lup, Troels Svane, Wen-Sinn Yang and Josef Luitz.
Matthias can look back on numerous prizes at the Austrian Music Competiton „Prima la Musica” in the Violoncello-solo category as well as in the chamber music category. He gained orchestral experience playing in Orchestras such as the “Wiener Jeunesse Orchester”, “Jugendsymphonieorchester Niederösterreich” and a variety of projects at the Kunstuniversität Graz.
As a soloist, Matthias has had performances with the “New Hope Project Orchestra” conducted by Octavian Lup, and “Kammerorchester Retz”.
