Born in Padova, Italy on November 3rd 2002, Pietro began to play the cello at the age of four. When he was six, he was admitted into the cello class of Luca Simoncini at the Venezze Conservatory of Music in Rovigo, where he was twice winner of a scholarship offered by the Alvino and Carla Pellegrini Foundation.
He obtained his diploma at the age of 15 with the highest marks and honor. He has won first prize in numerous national competitions, including the National Competition of Riccione, the National Competition of Giussano, the National Competition of Treviso. In 2015 he was awarded the absolute first prize in the Salieri International Music Competition. In 2019 he won first prize at the “Migliori Diplomati” Competition of Castrocaro and the “Premio Alberghini” Competition of Castel Maggiore.
In recent years Pietro has participated in masterclasses with Jens Peter Maintz, Giovanni Sollima, Christophe Coin, Monika Leskovar, Alexander Chaushian, Thomas Grossenbacher, Rafael Rosenfeld and Patrick Demenga. In 2013 he was admitted as the youngest participant at the Xenia International Chamber Music Course. In 2014, as a winner of the Beethoven Prize of the Rovigo Cello City Festival, Pietro had the honor to perform the first Beethoven sonata in a concert with the pianist Bruno Canino. With the sponsorship of a scholarship awarded as a special prize at the Adopt a Musician Competition in Forlì in 2017 Pietro participated in the summer masterclass of Wen-Sinn Yang at the Salzburg Mozarteum.
In the same year he was accepted into the class of Antonio Meneses at the Stauffer Foundation in Cremona, where he continues to study. In the summer of 2019 Pietro was selected as a participant in the Verbier Festival Junior Orchestra. Pietro currently attends his fourth year at the Tito Livio Classics High School in Padova. Since 2014 he is a member of the Mantegna Trio together with his violinist brother Tommaso and the pianist Davide Scarabottolo.
