Andrieș Cigulea is a third year viola student at Gheorghe Dima National Music Academy.
His sister’s violin playing inspired him to start learning the same instrument at the age of 5, under the guidance of Nicolae and Galina Buinovschi. Nine years later, he switched to viola in the class from Vladislav Margine and Anna Trofimova in Republican School of Music Ciprian Porumbescu.
During his bachelor, he studied with Traian Boală, Sorin Gherbanovschi and Carmen-Aida Soanea . Since 2018, he is curently a member of the Romanian National Youth Orchestra. He earned national and international scholarships such as Remember Enescu Foundation, EUphony Orchestra and SoNoRo Chamber Music Festival. Winner of the second prize of Eduard Caudella Competition, he also earned the special prize at Mozart String Quartet Competition.
