Julian Ritsch was born in 1999 in Innsbruck/Austria and received his first trumpet lessons at the age of 7. While being at school he studied at the Tyrolean State Conservatory with Andreas Lackner.
In 2019 he started his studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna with Univ.-Prof. Johann Plank. Since 2011 Julian has had many opportunities to perform as a soloist with various local youth and chamber orchestras and brass bands. He has won many first prizes in the federal competition Prima la Musica both as a soloist and chamber musician.
Julian is a member of "R.E.T. Chamber Brass", an award-winning Brass Quintet, which has been playing concerts in and out of Austria since becoming prize-winners at the Philip Jones Brass Ensemble Competition in 2019. Julian is member of the R.E.T. Brass Band, the Austrian Brass Consort and the Wiener Jeunesse Orchester and also plays as a substitute with the ORF Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra.
