Daniele Lorefice

Born in Ragusa in 1997, in September 2008 he was admitted to the Cello class of Maestro Maurizio Salemi at the “V. Bellini ” Conservatory in Catania, where, as final grade in June 2017, he obtained the old system Diploma with 10/10 cum laude.

He attended master classes: with Maestro Massimo Polidori, with Prof.ssa Timora Rosler, with Prof.ssa Katharina Troe, with M. Gianluca Giganti, with M. Julian Steckel and M. Jerome Pernoo. In September 2017 he was eligible for the selections for the Orchestra of the Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza; since then he has collaborated with musicians and conductors such as A. Lonquich, E. Onofri, G. Assh, F. Omassini, E. Bronzi, J. di Tonno, S. Guarino, Irena Kavčič, G. Takacs, A. Marcon, A. Weithaas, A. Janiczek. In October 2017 he was eligible as effective member of the Italian Youth Orchestra, also playing the role of first cello; he attended master classes with P. Serino, A. Menieur, A. Company, G. Horsch, G. Geminiani and collaborated with musicians and conductors such as G. Pretto, K. Blacher, E. Bosso, A. Tifu, J. Webb , J. Rhorer, D. Gatti, J. Masmondet, G. Sollima.

In October 2018 he was admitted as an effective student to attend the Cello specialization course at the Music School of Fiesole with Maestro Giovanni Gnocchi. In September 2018 he was admitted to the Academy of Pinerolo for the two-year specialization course with Prof. Marianne Chen and in the following November he was eligible on the waiting list for the Mahler Jugendorchester. In June 2019 he collaborated with the "Cherubini" Youth Orchestra with musicians such as R. Muti, M. Pollini and L. Kavakos.

In May 2018 he was eligible for cello auditions in a row for the "Haydn" Orchestra of Bolzano and Trento; in April 2019 he was mentioned at the cello audition at the "A. Toscanini "in Parma and in December 2019 he was eligible for cello auditions at the “Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana” in Palermo.
