Sofia Perolo was born in Verona in 1995. She started playing saxophone at 15, under the tutelage of Valentina Ferrarese and she is currently attending her final year of Bachelor Degree at the Conservatorio E. F. dall’Abaco, in the class of Giovanni Nardi.
As a SEMP student, she had the opportunity of studying at the Hochschule Luzern with Sascha Armbruster and Beat Hofstetter.
In 2017 she graduated with distinction in midwifery at the Università of Verona.
Sofia won different international soloist and chamber music contests, such as the “Antonio Salieri” and the “Jan Langosz” competition.
She performed in many events and festivals between Italy and Switzerland including “Verona Risuona”, “Step Across The Border” and “Attraversa-menti” as a soloist, as well as a part of wind orchestras and chamber music ensembles. Since 2017 she has been teaching saxophone in 3 different schools in north Italy and she is in the leading team of “Syb-Symphonic band”, an association aimed to support and form young musicians through musical activities linked to wind band education.
