Tommaso Gaeta
Tommaso Gaeta is an Italian flutist, born in 1999 in Rome. He started playing the recorder at the age of 7 in his elementary school. His grandparents noticed he was very passionate about music, every time they were picking him up from school he could not stop talking about the music lesson he had. Encouraged by them he started taking private lessons from Stefano Cogolo, the school’s teacher.
Tommaso started his orchestral journey very young at the age of 12 in the JuniOrchestra of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome. There he experienced for the first time in his life the unique connection that such an environment creates. Tommaso became in 2018 full member of the Italian Youth Orchestra (OGI) where he worked with many soloists and conductors, among them Daniele Gatti, Kolja Blacher, Alexander Lounquich. In 2021 he became member of the EUYO playing in the most prestigious halls of Europe with such conductors as Ivan Fischer, Elim Chan, Gianandrea Noseda, Gustavo Gimeno.
He accomplished his Bachelor and Master degrees with M° Paolo Rossi, his main teacher, finishing with maximum grades and Mention of Honor.
He participated in many courses and masterclasses with Andrea Oliva, Giampaolo Pretto, Mario Ancillotti, Rien de Reed, Silvia Careddu, Nicola Campitelli, Jessica Dalsant, Tommaso Pratola.
He won the X Severino Gazzelloni International Competition in 2022.
Since 2023 he is attending the Master of Arts and Performance in the Academy of Music of Basel in Switzerland, with Professor Felix Renggli.
