Luis López Gómez
Luis López Gómez is born in Basque Country (Spain), where he starts his early piano studies at the Conservatory in his hometown Leioa. Later, he moves to Barcelona to study his Bachelor in Classical & Contemporary Music at Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (esmuc) attending piano lessons by Maria Jesús Crespo & Pierre Reach. When finishing there, he kept studying Improvisation and Jazz Music first at Taller de Músics in Barcelona & at Conservatorio Superior de Música del País Vasco I Euskal Herriko Goi-Mailako Musika Ikastegia (Musikene) in Donostia-San Sebastián, attending piano lessons by Iñaki Salvador among others.
He has collaborated within several orchestras such as the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival Orchestra, Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Orquesta Sinfónica de Bilbao, Bilbao Sinfonietta, Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya, Banda Municipal de Barcelona, Orquestra Simfònica del Vallés, Jove Orquestra Nacional de Catalunya, Dutch Nationaal Jeugd Orkest or Musikene Big Band. Within these orchestras, he has been conducted by Gustavo Dudamel, Krzystof Urbanski, Christoph Eschenbach, Wayne Marshall, Erik Nielsen, Kazushi Ono, Josep Pons, Manel Valdivieso & Lluís Vidal among many others.
He has also taken part in other interdisciplinary projects as opera, dance & theatre shows, likewise as singer correpetiteur or chamber music player. In the same way, he works regularly as piano, harmony or improvisation teacher in different contexts, most recently at Conservatori Profesional de Música de Bellaterra (Barcelona) & Conservatorio Municipal de Leioa (Bizkaia).
